Commemoration of Battle of Cedar Creek
The Battle of Cedar Creek (October 19, 1864) will be commemorated at Belle Grove with interpretation of the Civil War history of the site (see schedule below). Tour the 1797 home of the Hite family that served as Union General Philip Sheridan’s Headquarters during the Battle of Cedar Creek and survived being at the epicenter of the battle.
Admission will be $5 for visitors 12 years and older and there is no charge for those 11 and younger, and Belle Grove and National Trust members. The Museum Shop will be open and also has Civil War books and merchandise for sale.
Saturday, October 21
10 a.m. Belle Grove Manor House opens for touring

- Exhibit about the archaeological excavations of the enslaved quarter site at Belle Grove
