Please note: Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown, Virginia was named after Nelly Madison Hite's grandmother's home, Belle Grove Plantation in Port Conway (King George County), Virginia. The latter was the birthplace of James Madison and is now operated as a bed and breakfast; more information may be found here. Port Conway is 100 miles east of Middletown.
